Job Description

Our client is looking for a Director – LNG Marketing to be responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing customer relationships, while understanding LNG market fundamentals.

You will be responsible for identifying, originating and negotiating LNG sales transactions including MOUs, HOAs, LNG SPAs and participating in negotiating of primary related agreements in support of the project portfolio.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse global, regional and customer specific LNG demand and supply markets, and identifying target customers for LNG marketing opportunities in line with development project objectives
  • Develop key customer profiles and briefing for review of targeted marketing strategies
  • Develop LNG pricing analysis and offers to develop targeted LNG marketing strategies for the long-term sale of LNG
  • Develop and review standard and project specific MOU, HOA and contractual terms and conditions for long-term agreements
  • Provide marketing and commercial support across LNG project developments and related joint venture activities including in relation to LNG ship charter-party agreements, agreements, offtake agreements and other related project agreements
  • Develop, maintain and enhance LNG customer relationships with prospective counterparties and target LNG buyers, including gas utilities, electric utilities, power generators, industrials, LNG import project developers and key buying consortiums
  • Originate, structure and negotiate MOUs, HOAs and LNG SPAs for the long-term sale of LNG to target LND buyers in line with project and corporate objectives and marketing strategy
  • Develop and act as steward for key relationships with LNG buyers, project partners and industry participants


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and or/business related field
  • Advanced postgraduate degree including a master’s degree in business, finance or other education
  • At least 10-15 years of experience within the natural gas or broader energy industry
  • Strong fundamental and end-to-end value chain market insight and knowledge across global gas, LNG and power markets
  • Experience originating, structuring, negotiating and executing MOUs, HOAs and LNGs SPA’s with top tier foundational global LNG buyers, ideally in Asia and Europe
  • Development of LNG marketing strategy and business case with a track record of presenting and securing support for recommendations from senior management
  • Experience leading LNG marketing activities in support of world-scale LNG project developments
  • Experience and strong knowledge across LNG pricing and risk management
