Job Description

As a Field Engineer for Steam Turbine Commissioning, you will represent our client both technically and professionally to ensure that the equipment is installed, maintained and started properly.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site technical direction on cold and hot commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance on customer owned power generation and industrial facilities
  • Prepare job-planning documents that define the scope of the outage
  • Utilise problem solving skills, engineering instructions, drawings and process instructions for Steam turbine commissioning and start-up
  • Provide input for Daily Outage and Weekly Installation Reports
  • Communicating effectively with Service Managers and Site Leaders on job planning and execution and with Resource Directors regarding site arrivals, departures and job progression
  • Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labour performing work on customer sites
  • Maintaining strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within our client’s safety standards
  • Possessing the technical capacity to troubleshoot and provide routine maintenance checkouts for a wide range of steam turbines
  • Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and reference for future outages
  • Troubleshooting steam turbine operations and maintenance problems


Key Requirements:

  • ABB DCS experience (Advant/Procontrol/Melody)
  • Alstom DCS experience (Alspa)
