Job Description

We are looking for a Field Service Technician 4 who will be responsible for providing problem solving and support in the installation/commissioning/warranty/on-demand/service-agreement of on-site water purification and disinfection systems both domestically and internationally. This position also requires the technician to identify current and future customer needs from planning and making audit visits; engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services and provide proposals to address those needs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifies current and future customer service requirements (spares, service, upgrades etc.) by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons able to understand their service requirements. This will be achieved by visiting Customers in territory on a daily basis with Company service vehicle through a planned approach.
  • Establishes new accounts and services accounts by identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule between scheduled service calls
  • Manages sub-contractors and assists with the installation of on-site water purification systems
  • Provides customer service and schedule installations and warranty repairs
  • Diagnoses system operation and or mechanical problems and provides problem resolution to assure product quality assurance and quality control
  • Recommends proper procedures in dismantling of a customer’s equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Provides training to customers and in-house staff
  • Controls and monitors service cost and schedules to meet contractual commitments
  • Coordinates purchasing and scheduling of equipment deliveries for installation
  • Provides inspections and sign-off of proper installation of equipment
  • Writes field service work-orders and maintains records of field directed changes to the installation of equipment for billing purposes
  • Maintains accurate purchase, inventory and installation records
  • Reads and interprets blueprints, drawings, technical manuals and diagrams
  • Responds to after-hours call-outs as required
  • Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Knowledge of mechanical installation, including but not limited to water softeners, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and PLC/HMI software.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
  • Operation of specialty tools, gauges and meters required for monitoring and testing systems, including chemical test kits
  • Domestic and international travel experience
  • Sales fundamental understanding. Ability to listen, walk through the entire plant and identify Customer unmet needs across De Nora Water and other related equipment
  • BS in Engineering or equivalent
  • 7-10 years’ experience in installation of mechanical and electrical equipment, sale of services, contracts and parts, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
 
These roles will be based in Missouri, Kansas, Montana, Arkansas, Michigan, Texas, or surrounding states of these areas.
