Job Description

Based on the experience for more than a decade within the eMobility sector, my client has recently founded a new business unit and we are recruiting for a managing director to lead it in the UK. Focusing on the latest technologies, high-level services, reliable operations, and easy-to-use infrastructure and applications to help electrifying the mobility sector. My client has a strong commitment to this field of business, as it plays a key role in the future strategy of the company. We are experts in the integration of charging infrastructure into our highly reliable, secure and interoperable backend and we can offer and host energy services and smart charging applications customized and white-labeled. My client is a true expert in the energy sector and a pioneer in the Electric Vehicle market we can already offer multiple additional services on top of the core functionality of our product. Energy independence, energy management including smart home & connected living functionalities, as well as smart company applications, energy storage and access/trading with energy, also from renewable sources are key elements of our daily operations. A combination of these energy and charging services for electric vehicles is therefore possible but not mandatory. We believe that smart charging in the future will not only focus on the ease and comfort for the customer but also on the objective to provide green and renewable energy as well as the optimal integration with all relevant energy market actors. 

Current e-Mobility products & services:

  • Charging infrastructure (AC & DC) for B2C and B2B customers incl. DC fast charging at motorways
  • Installation & Maintenance of charging infrastructure incl. grid access
  • Charge point operating services (Software as a Service)
  • Smart Services (green tariffs, Demand Response, Load Mgtm. for fleet customers)

Key Responsibilities:

 In order to exploit the rapidly growing UK eMobility market successfully, my client is looking for a capable Managing Director who will succeed in the following objectives:

  • Found the ltd. Company to be based in the South of the UK
  • Work collaboratively with our UK energy supply team at “npower” to support eMobility success through our existing sales and marketing channels
  • Build the company and recruit key staff, in particular, Key Account Managers to address the needs of special, and international, B2B clients such as OEMs and car dealership networks that are not typical customers of npower
  • Shape an agile organization based on intrinsic motivation, open communication flow, trust and flexibility to attend different client needs.
  • In collaboration with npower identify and attend eMobility tender processes, ideally be close enough to the relevant people before a tender process starts
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients
  • Collaborate with npower to support the development of the existing UK market entry strategy further, identify growth segments and develop together with the central team product and sales solutions to penetrate those segments
  • Ensure E2E quality: from consulting, installation, commissioning to repair and maintenance and customer service
  • Qualify and contract installation and service partners
  • Develop a growth plan incl. organic and inorganic growth which satisfies the overall company goals

Key Requirements:

  • University degree (MA, MSc, Master Degree, PhD)
  • Significant experience in various functions, among others sales/business development
  • Ability to grow a business and to show a proven track record in top line growth
  • You willl be able to “hunt deals” and close contracts
  • You will have experience in building and retaining a high-performing team
  • Ability to create a positive working atmosphere which is based on trust, open communication and flexibility
  • Ability to build strong relationships with both clients and process partners
  • Industry Background: Automotive, Car Sharing, Leasing & Fleet, Energy Services, Software Industry, Housing industry
  • The value of your relationships to potential key clients (automotive industry, retail chains, facility & housing industry)
