Job Description

Our client, a manufacturer of solar cells, modules and custom-designed solar power applications, is looking for a Managing Director for the Distributed Generation and Microgrid Sales for the Americas. This role will be directly driving and leading the business plan strategy, business development and sales efforts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of business planning, sales and business development of distributed generation
  • Provide leadership and develop a strategy for the repeatability of system
  • Identify and define the new business strategy, business opportunities and business channels while creating an active sales pipeline
  • Work externally with clients and internally with the Solar business unit to achieve growth objectives
  • Lead negotiations as well as fulfil regulatory requirements for contract administration process
  • Build and foster solid relationships and interact with other groups to continuously improve results
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and reporting of sales and drive conversion of leads and forecast opportunities to revenue
  • Negotiate and close orders to achieve the short and long-term business plan and growth targets on committed timelines
  • Coordinate contract negotiation team and take the lead on commercial negotiations for equipment supply agreements
  • Contribute to the development of the marketing strategy and communication build brand awareness
  • Execute business plans with emphasis on developing and maintaining strong business relationships at senior customer levels
  • Develop appropriate presentations for customer proposals in order to win business and meet company goals
  • Meet with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
  • Manage the P&L for the defined business area


Key Requirements:

  • 8 + years’ experience in Business and Project Development management
  • 5 + years’ experience in PV systems arena
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, administration
  • Experience with value selling and designing an account penetration strategy/plan
  • High proficiency of MS Office applications and Sales
  • Proven success utilising interpersonal relations and demonstrated ability to work with other effectively
