Job Description

Our client, a manufacturer of solar cells, modules and solar power applications, is looking for a Senior Manager – Project Coordination to join the team in California. Reporting to the EPC Director this role will be responsible for the procurements of commodities and services and contract development. This role will be to provide strategic leadership, direction and management in demand planning, forecasting, sourcing, market research and establish initiatives and activities that ensure the reliable supply of goods sand services that support the group.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the procurement needs of various regions, including timely and quality execution of all key activities
  • Effectively negotiate procurement in commodities and services and contract documents
  • Organisation and maintain an ‘Approved Supplier List’ for each component category in coordination with the engineering group
  • Review and approve purchasing documents and contracts in order to mitigate risk, ensure quality and validate consistent application of corporate policies and procedures
  • Identify, develop and implement improvement of processes and institute procedures that ensure bids/proposals, contractual documentation and purchase orders are aligned with business controls, policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain systematic, analytical and results-based method for savings, monitoring supplier’s performance, sourcing effectiveness and communicating the results
  • Develop forward curves of key underlying commodities
  • Coordinate the process of actual order placement between the regions and the vendor
  • Develop and manage project-specific procurement plans, while leveraging volume across major spend items, driving leveraging process at the highest possible


Key Requirements:

  • Degree in a business field or applicable field of study, such as Business Administration, Procurement, or Purchasing
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience relevant to procurement (e.g. execution of complexing sourcing events, developing sourcing strategies, and finalising RFPs), with experience in Accounting, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related.
  • 5 + years of experience working with vendors and vendor related issues
  • Ability to develop working relationships with vendors while effectively assessing and monitoring the performance of the vendors
  • Ability to manage conflict and addressing performance issues
  • Ability to travel
